Troubleshooting Tips for your Pocket Juice 20K Hyper Charge

August 8, 2023 | By Jordan Fargo | 6 mins to read

What if the charger doesn’t turn on?

If you notice that your Pocket Juice 20K Hyper Charge isn’t turning on, see if its battery is fully charged. It should take approximately 10-15 hours to fully charge your Pocket Juice 20K Hyper Charge from a depleted battery level.

Keep the power bank on a flat, hard surface, in a cool and dry environment, during the charging process. Keep it far away from heat sources, water or other liquids, or direct sunlight as it charges, and make sure that its four LED status indicator lights are illuminated.

Thoroughly inspect your portable charger to ensure that none of its components are damaged or visibly malfunctioning in any way. Only use the included Micro-USB charging cable to charge your Pocket Juice 20K Hyper Charge. Check that the cable is not wet, dirty, frayed, or damaged in any other way.

If the above troubleshooting tips don’t cause the portable charger to turn on, there could be an issue with its internal battery or other circuitry. Do not attempt to modify, disassemble, or repair the portable charger by yourself. Instead, please call or email us at support@tzumi.com or 1-855-GO-TZUMI, and an experienced customer support representative will be happy to assist you.

What if the charger won’t charge my devices?

Make sure that your portable charger is fully charged, and that it’s properly and securely connected to the device that you plan to charge. Once fully charged, it can recharge most devices several times, depending on the battery capacity of the device and the condition and age of the battery. Remember that the rated battery capacity of the charger can differ depending on both the device you’re charging, and the temperature range in which the charger is operating in.

It’s crucial that your charger isn’t wet, dirty, frayed, or damaged in any other way. Clean it gently with a soft, dry cloth to remove any dirt, dust, or other debris.

Only use the charger with devices that are compatible with USB or USB-C charging. Devices without a USB or USB-C port will not be able to be charged by the Pocket Juice 20K Hyper Charge. Make sure your chosen phone, tablet, or other device is not damaged or visibly malfunctioning, and that its charging port is not blocked or deformed in some way.

Again, if none of the suggestions above cause your charger to start powering your devices, then disconnect any cables and set the power bank down. Never attempt to disassemble, modify, or repair the portable charger on your own. This could cause severe and irreparable damage to the product, as well as void any warranty in place. Reach out to Customer Service as soon as possible for further instructions instead.

Why is the power bank getting so hot?

Your power bank should not be getting excessively hot. If it is hot and uncomfortable to touch, then it’s highly possible that it has been charging devices for too long, and may run out of power soon. Alternatively, it may be charging a device that requires more power than the power bank can provide in a given time, or it may be in an extremely hot or humid environment.

Unplug all devices from your power bank, and turn your Pocket Juice 20K Hyper Charge off. Let it cool down for an hour or two, then fully recharge it. Check that the devices you were trying to charge don’t exceed the power bank’s maximum energy output range, since devices that require more power than the Pocket Juice 20K Hyper Charge can provide safely are likely to cause the power bank to overheat.

We also recommend gently cleaning your power bank with a soft, dry cloth, and removing any obstructive dirt, dust, or other debris from any of the power bank’s charging ports. These substances can cause the power bank to work a lot harder than it should, and warm up to high temperature levels quickly.

Where shouldn’t I use or store the portable charger?

You should never use or store the portable charger in extremely hot or cold environments, as these can severely damage the charger over time. Do not use or store it near fires or other heat sources, since they can destroy the charger, and possibly cause a fire or explosion if a device is being charged.

Do not place the portable charger anywhere near children or pets; it is not a toy and could be a choking hazard. Only store and use the charger in cool, dry areas. Anywhere in your home, office, car, or elsewhere should be fine, as long as it is away from water, heat sources, or sharp objects.
