Troubleshooting Tips for your ionvac StainZero

Why won’t my vacuum turn on?

Ensure that your portable spot cleaner is sufficiently charged. We recommend that you fully charge it before each cleaning session. Make sure that you only use the included power adapter to charge the handheld vacuum, as other adapters or charging cables may not work properly.

It’s crucial to set up the StainZero correctly, following all the steps listed in the User Guide exactly as written. Check that all components of the vacuum, especially its suction cover and Clean Water Tank, are properly and securely installed on the spot cleaner. Clean all of the vacuum’s openings with a soft, dry cloth, as any stuck particles may prevent the vacuum from turning on as expected.

Only use the vacuum in a cool, dry environment, away from heat sources, high humidity, and extremely high or low temperatures. All of these conditions could cause the StainZero to not function optimally or turn on.

If all of the above troubleshooting tips do not result in the StainZero turning on, then there may be an issue with the vacuum’s internal circuitry. Never attempt to disassemble, modify, or repair your spot cleaner in any way, as this may cause serious injury, electric shock, and/or irreversible damage to the product. Instead, please call or email us at support@tzumi.com or 1-855-GO-TZUMI right away. An experienced customer service representative will be more than happy to assist you.

Why isn’t the vacuum cleaning any stains?

It’s crucial that both the vacuum’s suction opening and suction cover are completely clean and unobstructed by dirt, dust, debris, or any other particles. Remove the suction cover and clean it thoroughly, by rinsing it and wiping it with a soft, dry cloth. You should also inspect the vacuum’s Deep Cleaning Brush, and ensure that nothing is stuck or entangled within its bristles, such as excessive dirt, hair, or other substances.

Do not attempt to clean any flammable or toxic objects or stains, such as ammonia, chlorine, bleach, lighter fluid, gasoline, kerosene, etc. These substances can severely damage the StainZero’s internal circuity and suction mechanisms. Moreover, you should never pick up hard or sharp objects, such as glass, nails, or screws, as they may get stuck in the suction opening and damage the vacuum.

If your floor, couch, or other surface has super-tough stains, then try spraying water on them if you haven’t already. Make sure the vacuum’s Clean Water Tank is full of clean water. Add a tiny bit of gentle detergent if necessary. Remember to check the Dirty Water Tank after each cleaning session, and empty it once it is full, as this could prevent the StainZero from properly cleaning any stains.

What should I do if the StainZero won’t charge?

It takes approximately 4 hours to charge the StainZero. If you notice that it is taking much longer than 4 hours to charge, or if it isn’t charging at all, then check that the charging cable is fully inserted into the vacuum’s charging port. Clean both the cable and the vacuum’s charging port with a soft, dry cloth, and make sure that no dirt, dust, or debris is stuck within the charging port.

You should also do a scan of the AC outlet that you are attempting to use for charging the vacuum. It should be dry, clean, and located far away from any heat sources, water, or any other liquid, as well as children or pets, since they can damage the outlet. The AC outlet should also be in a relatively cool, dry environment. If the outlet is wet, visibly damaged, malfunctioning, or located in a hot or cold space, choose a different outlet.

Never attempt to charge the StainZero if its charging port is wet, leaking, or visibly deformed or malfunctioning in any way. Immediately contact us for further information.
