When buying a new coffee mug, there are a few key elements to keep in mind. The mug’s size and material, cost, how much coffee you drink, where you plan to use or take the mug, and additional features are all important factors to consider.
You should focus your search on mugs that are sturdy and comfortable to hold. Those with a compact design, easy-grip handle, and durable build are the most valuable ones, as they’ll let you enjoy your beverage without any hassle.
Think about where and when you like to enjoy your morning brew of coffee, chai tea, macchiato, or warmed milk. Do you like to sip on it throughout the morning commute and your day at the office? Or are you someone that likes to enjoy it fresh and hot before you head out for the day? You should also consider how much of these particular drinks you usually have in a given day, as this will play a huge role in determining the size of mug you should purchase.
Finally, the extra features that some mugs have, including auto warming, auto shutoff, warming lids, and more, can have a huge impact on both the drink quality and your safety. The most innovative and valuable coffee mugs have self-heating technology and an option to automatically turn off after a certain amount of time, as well as ultra-secure warming lids, such as our state-of-the-art ionmug. If these sound like important aspects of a prospective mug, then the ionmug and Charging Coaster may be for you.
Keep all of the information above in mind when it’s time to buy a new mug. Whether it’s for yourself or a loved one, the right coffee mug can make a world of difference in how each day begins.
The ionmug’s quick-charging capability, along with its ability to maintain your desired temperature for up to 2 hours off the charging coaster makes it a truly unique product. Plus, its LED temperature indicator lights give you ultimate peace of mind that most other mugs can’t provide, as well as 3 temperature options and lots of versatility.
You can heat up coffee of all kinds, milk, tea, hot chocolate, and more in the mug! With a compact design, sturdy handle, and secure warming lid to keep your drinks extra warm and fresh when the mug isn’t on the coaster, the ionmug is a revolutionary self-heating tool for all of your favorite beverages, providing a smooth and comforting sip every time.
Coffee mugs are typically available in several different materials. Here are some of the most common ones.
Ceramic mugs are often less expensive and more durable when compared to most mugs. These mugs are mainly intended to be used at home, since even the thickest ceramic mugs tend to crack when dropped on the floor, thus making them much more suitable for your morning routine before you go to work. A huge benefit of ceramic mugs is that they don’t often absorb or transmit the flavor of your beverage, so you can still enjoy the full and natural taste of your coffee, tea, or other drink of choice.
Stainless-steel mugs are another popular choice among coffee enthusiasts. Durability is the main advantage of these mugs, as they very rarely crack or break if they’re dropped on the floor. Like ceramics, stainless-steel mugs are not porous, and the material will not influence the flavor of your drink. However, it can help keep your coffee hot for a longer period, which is why it is the preferred choice for travel mugs.
Plastic and acrylic coffee mugs are also fairly durable and affordable, but these types of mugs may end up changing the taste of your coffee. Plastic mugs are porous and can allow toxins from the material to mix into your drink over time. Individuals on a tighter budget can certainly use these mugs in the short-term without issues, but it may be wise to invest in a ceramic or stainless-steel mug for the long run.
It’s up to you to decide where and when you plan to enjoy your beverage. If you’re on the go a lot or like to sip on some hot decaf on the drive to work, then a stainless-steel travel mug might be your go-to. Those that like to consume their cup of Joe before they leave the house, however, may prefer ceramic instead.
This ultimately comes down to how much coffee you drink every morning. Most coffee mugs come in sizes ranging from 8-12 oz.
However, those that drink lots of coffee or tea before work each morning may find that this amount is not enough. Those using travel mugs often take them to work and sip their beverage during the daily commute. Anywhere between 16-24 oz. may be a more suitable amount for true coffee or tea lovers.
If you don’t drink coffee or tea very often, prefer cold drinks, or like to enjoy certain beverages in smaller portions, then there are also 3-6 oz. mugs available. The 12 oz. ionmug, though, is just the right size and can be a happy medium for just about anyone, no matter how much coffee, tea, or hot chocolate you sip each day.
If the mug doesn’t turn on, make sure it is set up properly before attempting to use it. Check that the charging coaster is on a hard, flat surface, with the rubber ring facing down. Plug the DC end of the power adapter into the coaster, and the other end into an AC wall outlet. Ensure that the AC wall outlet is not blocked or obstructed. When placing the mug on the coaster, be sure to align the metal rings with the copper pins on the coaster. Check that no components of the mug appear to be defective or damaged in some way, as this may prevent proper operation of the mug.
If all of the above fails, then there may be an issue with one of the mug’s internal components. Do not attempt to disassemble or repair the mug by yourself. Instead, please call or email us at email@example.com or 1-855-GO-TZUMI. An experienced customer support representative will be happy to assist you.
If the mug doesn’t warm to your selected temperature, then it may not be sufficiently charged. Place the mug back on the charging coaster and try to fully charge it again. Wait until the LED battery indicator light is solid red and see if that helps.
Alternatively, try cleaning the mug’s interior by gently handwashing it. Any leftover residue from your last beverage may interfere with the mug’s heating mechanisms and prevent the mug from reaching your temperature of choice.
Do not try selecting a temperature for the mug to heat up to if there is no liquid inside, as the auto shutoff feature will cause the mug to automatically turn off for your safety. Instead, we recommend adding a small amount of your favorite beverage, then attempting to select a temperature. If this doesn’t work, try adding a bit more. Keep doing this and see if more liquid causes the mug to start warming up. Sometimes, if there is too little liquid in the mug, the heating sensors will not detect anything inside and will not let the mug begin to heat.
Please don’t hesitate to call or email us at firstname.lastname@example.org or 1-855-GO-TZUMI for more troubleshooting tips if you still experience difficulties.
Make sure nothing is obstructing the charging port on either the mug or the coaster. Check that the included power adapter isn’t frayed or damaged in any way. Gently clean the coaster and see if it is damaged or visibly malfunctioning in some way. When placing the mug on the coaster, align the metal rings on the mug with the copper rings on the coaster, and be sure that the rings look and function as expected. Do not attempt to use the charging coaster if its copper rings do not look right, or if they appear damaged to any extent.
You can also try plugging the power adapter into a different AC wall outlet and see if that helps. Alternatively, try using a different power adapter when attempting to plug in the charging coaster. Never attempt to disassemble or modify the charging coaster on your own. If all else fails, feel free to reach out to our Customer Support team for further advice.
You can place the mug on any hard, flat, and stable surface that won’t be damaged or burned by its high temperature. Wood tables, marble countertops, desktops, coffee tables…virtually any surface in a large, open space should be a safe place for both the mug and the charging coaster.
Never attempt to put the microwave in a microwave, oven, grill, or other heat source. In addition, do not place the mug in a sink, tub, pool, or other body of water when it is turned on. Only hand-wash the mug when it is empty and powered off to avoid damage to the product and/or any risk of electrocution. Do not expose the mug to extreme temperatures or high humidity levels, or place it on the charging coaster if it is powered on and empty, as it may overheat and burn.
You should never place any sort of toxic or flammable substance inside the mug, such as chemicals, since they can cause severe damage to the product. It is also not recommended to place any food in the mug or attempt to heat it up using the charging coaster. In addition, do not place any electrical products inside the mug if it is on, as these can heat up quickly and cause serious injury or damage to the mug. Most importantly, never attempt to touch the inside of the mug or the charging coaster when they are on, or have them come into contact with yourself or others, especially children and pets.
