Troubleshooting Tips for your Fleximount Smartphone and Tablet Holder

August 21, 2023 | By Jordan Fargo | 3 mins to read

Why isn’t the Fleximount holding my device?

If your device has a thick protective case or other accessories on it, then the Fleximount may have a tough time holding it. Check that your device doesn’t exceed the maximum length or weight limit of the Fleximount, as this can damage the phone and tablet holder, or cause your device to fall.

Make sure that your Fleximount isn’t wet, dirty, damaged, or visibly malfunctioning in any way. Gently wipe it with a soft, dry cloth to remove any dirt, dust, or other debris from the product. A buildup of dirt or other substances on the Fleximount can result in your device not staying in place.

We recommend that you only place lightweight phones and tablets on the Fleximount stand. Larger and heavier items may damage the product or wear it down over time. However, small, compact items such as books or tiny gaming consoles (such as a Nintendo™ Switch) may be able to stay upright and secure on the Fleximount. Proceed with caution if you decide to do this, though.

If none of the above troubleshooting tips work, and your phone and tablet holder still won’t hold your device, then there may be a different issue with your product. Do not attempt to disassemble, modify, or repair the Fleximount Smartphone and Tablet Stand by yourself. Instead, call or email us at support@tzumi.com or 1-855-GO-TZUMI. An experienced customer support representative will be happy to assist you.

What should I do if the Fleximount won’t extend or tilt?

You should make sure that nothing is obstructing the adjustable knob or the neck of the Fleximount. Clean the product with a soft, dry cloth to remove any entrapped dirt, dust, or other debris. You should also ensure that all components of the Fleximount are installed correctly. If the knob isn’t properly installed on the Fleximount, then it’s possible that it won’t tilt or extend the way you want it to.

Try removing your phone or tablet from the mount, then extending or tilting it to your desired height or angle. Never place excessive pressure on the mount. Do not use a tool or other object to adjust the Fleximount – only use your hands and the adjustable knob. Make sure your phone or tablet hasn’t damaged the product, and that you haven’t placed any extremely heavy objects on the mount. Check the User Guide and ensure that you have set up the product correctly.

Do not attempt to extend or tilt the Fleximount if it is damaged or visibly malfunctioning in some way. Contact our Customer Service team for further information instead.

Where shouldn’t I use or store the Fleximount?

Never use or store the Fleximount in extremely hot or cold environments, since they can damage the product over time. Keep the mount away from heat sources, as well as water or any other liquid. Do not keep the Fleximount anywhere near children or pets. This product is not a toy. In addition, any soft or uneven surfaces can cause the mount to fall over, which may damage either the product or your device, especially at a high height.

Only use and store your Fleximount in a cool, dry space, on a surface that’s flat and hard, to ensure that the lamp operates properly. Surfaces such as desktops, nightstands, or kitchen counters should work just fine.
